6250m3 of water. This is the amount of water that idroplan saved during the first pilot this past summer. Almost the 30% of water used during July and August.
Water is soon going to be a scarce resource if we do not manage it carefully. FAO estimates that, due to increasing population, if agriculture will continue using water as of today, there will be the need of 40% more water. However, we already know that there is not enough water to cover this need. Water scarcity could potentially lead to massive immigrations and famine. The risk of water scarcity does not affect only areas as Africa or Middle East. Europe, South America and South Asia are already experiencing desertification events in several regions.
Farmers are perceiving this risk. They are more and more looking for technologies that can effectively increase the sustainability of their productions. Environmental sustainability is a strong market trend we are observing: more and more farmers and companies are positioning themselves as defenders of the environment and they can use it as a distinctive element for their products.
Idroplan’s mission is to guarantee long term sustainability to intense agriculture. We will ensure that every single drop of water is given when needed and it is not wasted.
